As an addition to our line of, we are offering 3-hour and 5-hour guided trips to kayak Cumberland Island National Seashore. Paddling options include a waterfront view of Amelia Island’s historic Fort Clinch, then on to Cumberland Island National Seashore, where guests can experience the beautiful coastal atmosphere that this island has to offer. Stop off on Cumberland’s beach or paddle some of Cumberland’s inland waterways, where wild horses can often be seen as well.

Join us on one of our adventures, our approximate 5-hour guided trip to Cumberland Island National Seashore. 

No only will kayak guests be able to explore the beautiful coastline and interior waterways, but they will also spend time ont he Island having an up close view of the grounds of the historic Dungeness ruins where wild horses often can be seen, maritime forests, and the Ice House museum.

  • Arrive in style to Dungeness (the Carnegie ruins). Guests will also paddle past historic Fort Clinch, along the river side of Cumberland, and into the saltmarshes.

Tour Schedule

Tour meeting times vary as the tide cycles set the time for the tour.   

  • Low Tide Cumberland Island Tour Enjoy looking for shark’s teeth and shelling. Guests can explore the sandbars and rock jetties, and look for marine life in tidal pools as well while keeping an eye out for wild horses and other wildlife in the area.
  • High Tide Cumberland Tour Guest will be able to paddle an interior creek which flows behind the beach, where wild horses can often be seen grazing along the waterways. Guests will also be able to stop off on a sandy beach before returning to Amelia Island. 

Tour Meeting Location

The tour begins at the North End Dee Dee Bartels Boat Ramp located at 97117 Pogy Place, in Fernandina Beach. We ask that all paddlers arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to departure time.
